Enrolment at St Gregory's Armenian School requires a total commitment to all aspects of the school.
A school takes on a commitment to educate its students.
St Gregory's Armenian School is committed not only to educate but also to help in the formation of the whole child. The school provides an environment where all individuals are encouraged to learn and develop to their full potential within an Armenian Christian community. To live a full and worthwhile life you need to be more than an academic. As parents, your choice in sending your child to St Gregory's Armenian School is that you want your child to learn more than facts. You want them to learn self-respect and self-discipline, to develop the skills of decision-making and positive thinking and to learn and live Christian values. This process involves both the parents and the child accepting they have a commitment not just to attend on school days, but to be involved in the school community and support whole-heartedly the endeavours of St Gregory's Armenian school. If you do not feel you have the desire or time to make such a commitment, then this school is not for you. If you do wish to make the commitment, we warmly welcome you to this school community.
As parents, you are required to support the values, which the school espouses. St Gregory's Armenian School supports family values and being good parents, we know that you endorse what the school teaches its students both in and out of the classroom.
The school has rules that are set down and explained to each student. These rules are in place to ensure the comfort, safety and well being of all students. The rules are there to help students live their lives in a Christian way, to teach them respect for themselves, for each other and for property.
To achieve real growth, there is need for the student to feel accepted, loved and respected. In this way, self-respect will develop self-discipline.
During each year, St Gregory's Armenian School holds a number of special functions that are considered an integral part of each child's life as a student at the school. Attendance at school is not only on school days. The school is the child's extended family and attendance by students at these functions is compulsory.
On these days, as well as the celebrations of the Mass, students are usually involved in a performance. Their involvement and attendance shows their sense of school spirit and commitment to their school.
