A student’s dress should not draw undue attention to them. Despite problems caused by growing children, boys’ and girls’ uniforms should fit properly. Generous hems for example, can help. Girls’ uniform dress length must be no higher than just above the knee. A designated female member of staff will be the final arbitrator of whether a dress is too short. Care should be taken with the choice of swimsuits. A one-piece suit is compulsory for girls. Bikinis are not permitted.

Hair Style

Boys’ hair styles should be conservative and maintained in natural hair colours. Hair styles should be neat, clean, off the face. No step cut allowed. Boys faces must at all times be cleanly shaven.

Girls’ hair must be worn up, it should be neat, clean and off the face, maintained in natural hair colours and in a tidy manner. Hair decorations are not permitted and only bobby pins, hair bands and scrunchie permitted in school colours.

Hair should not be wet and gel or other products are not to be used on hair.

Name Labels

All clothing should be clearly labelled with the student’s name.

Jewellery

No visible jewellery is permitted to be worn except one watch and a simple chain with a religious cross. Only students from years 6 to 12 may wear a watch. Girls may wear one matching sleeper or small plain stud in each pierced ear lobe. Exceptions are made for medical ID items. Boys are not allowed to wear an earring.

Cold Weather

In cold weather only the following additional items of clothing may be worn to and from school.

Primary School: royal blue gloves and scarves.

Secondary School: navy blue gloves and scarves.

Standards

Uniforms need to be kept clean and in good repair to maintain a high standard of neatness and tidiness. Holes/tears should be repaired immediately and buttons sewn on etc. This applies to sport uniform as well. Parents/guardians should check uniform regularly to help maintain the high standard.

Hats

A hat is required as a compulsory part of school uniform and is to be worn whenever the student is outdoors. No hat, no play.
